At the moment, nothing is hotter than “Web 2.0”. Everybody wants to have a website that looks and acts “next generation”. The formula is quite simple, mix together an attractive layout sprinkled with AJAX and DHTML effects.
Therefore nothing is more Web 2.0 than pushing the limits of DHTML close to what Flash can do. For a while now Abludo has been keeping with the trend by exploring various JavaScript effects libraries. We first explored the “Spry Framework”, which is backed by Adobe. Unfortunately it is still in beta and has a few issues.
The next one, called MooFX, was tried on this very site (see the menu on the main page). We were very impressed with how well it worked and intend to use it in the future. In fact, we consider the quest over, MooFX is what we will use in the future. However, we might slowly continue exploring other possibilities (namely Scriptaculous and OpenRico) in the future.

UPDATE 2009 :
The format war has ended, and jQuery has won. Abludo will follow Microsoft and Nokia's lead by using and supporting jQuery only.
